Scientific evidence and consensus continue to strengthen the idea that climate disruption is an urgent threat to the environmental and economic health of our communities. Over 30 Michigan cities and townships have joined nearly 1,000 mayors in signing the U.S. Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement pledging to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7 percent below 1990 levels by 2012.
Join mayors, city managers, community and private sector leaders on September 9-10 at Grand Valley State University's Eberhard Center. Future Cities/GreenTown Grand Rapids is made possible through partnerships with the following organizations:
- Michigan Municipal League
- Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth
- Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment
- Grand Valley State University
This event also features support from The Wege Foundation and Kellogg Foundation.
Sponsors for this year's event can be found here.
